Tanks:
Tank-Weld Fabrication has supplied and installed bolted tanks ranging from a
size of 18,000 U.S. gallons up to 2.1 Million U.S. gallons for different customers
including the National Water Commission, Housing Agency of Jamaica and Rural
Water. Bolted tanks (galvanized and epoxy coated) are supplied through an
agreement with our supplier from the USA.
Steel tanks manufactured by the company vary in size from 200 to 500,000
gallons, however, the most common are between 2,000 and 5,000 gallons.
These are typically fuel tanks. Due to environmental issues, underground fuel
tanks are required to be fiberglass coated and Tank-Weld Fabrication has been
able to offer a competitive price for this process. On the larger side, the Company
fabricated and erected 500,000 gallon welded tanks for Shell Company and
Carib Engineering.
The company outbid an overseas fabricator for the supply of 5 stainless steel
fermentors varying in size from 40,000 gallons to 50,000 gallons for the Wray &
Nephew group of companies.
Tank-Weld also offers a turn-key operation for steel structures by designing customer’s buildings, getting the plans drawn up and approved, fabricating and erecting the structure.
We have also fabricated and erected specialty structures for Petrojam, the Sugar Industry and several other companies.
We are a supplier of steel decking, for which we have an agreement with an overseas supplier.
Buildings:
We are a major source for the fabrication and erection of warehouses and steel
framed buildings, which includes installation of sheeting and fabricating and
installing mezzanines to new or existing buildings.
Tank-Weld also offers a turn-key operation for steel or concrete structures by
designing customer’s buildings, preparing construction drawings, obtaining
approvals, and completing the construction.
We have also fabricated and erected specialty structures for Petrojam, the Sugar
Industry and several other companies.
Our most recent projects include the rebuilding of the WISYNCO warehouse
(187,500 square feet), a Business Process Outsourcing facility in Montego Bay
for The Port Authority of Jamaica (63,000 square feet) and one for Stanley Motta
in Kingston. We also just completed the maintenance workshop for the straddle
carriers at the Port in Kingston for Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited.
We are a supplier of steel decking for which we have an agreement with an
overseas supplier.
Polished Concrete Flooring:
For the past six years, we have been offering polished concrete flooring. The
process involves cutting the concrete floor, staining to a chosen colour (if
desired) and polishing at a cost that is less than tiling. The end result is a
durable floor that has the appearance of a terrazzo tile, which can be used in
residential, office and factory settings. Customers include WISYNCO, Lasco, and
Jamaica Beverages.
Ducting and Silos:
Tank-Weld Fabrication completed a project in 2008 for Carib Cement Company Ltd. for the fabrication of over 500,000 lbs of ducting and silos for the upgrading of the plant at Rockfort, Jamaica.
Towers:
Transmission towers have been erected for Jamiaca Public Service Company,
Cable and Wireless, Digicel and Centennial.
Monuments:
The company has done work for sculptures also: most notably, some of the
monuments done in 1999 for the National Heroes at National Heroes Park.
Workshop:
Tank-Weld Fabrication has a workshop at 689 Spanish Town Road, Kingston 11,
which totals approximately 25,000 sq. ft in size, in which plate can be cut, bent or
rolled. The company can also fabricate pipes, drill holes in plate and thread
smooth bar.
