Fiwi Centre Computer/Homework Facility

The Fiwi Centre Computer/Homework Centre open in 2007 with the objective to provide a safe environment for children in the Water House community to gather for homework assistance as well as basic computer classes. The violence in the community greatly affects the children and their ability to learn and grow so the decision was made to create a safe haven for them to learn and flourish. Other stakeholders include Food For The Poor, The Social Development Commission, Drews Land Benevolence Society and JALAWELOV.

The centre is open six days a week to all children from the community where they can do their homework, learn and play on the computers and feel safe. The centre also provides services for the adults in the community including parenting workshops, Justice of the Peace Services and mediation.
